Camacho-Montero Litigation
May 26, 2009 - The Department of Homeland Security filed a Motion to Dismiss Mr. Camacho's lawsuit today, continuing the policies of the Bush Administration in the absence of a clear directive from the new Obama Administration to change the policy toward widows and widowers. We are hopeful that change will come soon following the expected confirmation of USCIS Director nominee Mayorkas.

Camacho Motion to Dismiss
March 13, 2009 - Mr. Jesus Camacho-Montero filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, challenging the automatic denial of his permanent resident status due to the death of his wife, Stacy Elizabeth Camacho in a car accident on July 5, 2005, more than a year after their applications had been filed. The couple had been married for nearly a year and a half at the time of Stacy's tragic death. The case is Camacho-Montero v. Holder, No. 09-00695 (N.D. Ga. 2009). Mr. Camacho-Montero is represented by Charles "Chuck" H. Kuck, the National President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and associate attorney Danielle Conley.
